My best purchases of 2021

Long time no see….. the amount of blogpost drafts I have from the past 6 months is a lil embarrassing. I’ve been in such a writing slump but I finally have some creativity coming back to me. Writing blogposts was what started my lil page so it’s about time I gave it more attention. I would love Stay Sásta to become a place where you can click in and find something to read or discover a new product, like a mini magazine. So to start the year off I’m going to be talking all about my best purchases of 2021, and the things I think are worth spending money on so let’s goooo:

1. VEJA VENTURI’S:

I debated buying these for so long. I had a pair of white chunky runners from Public Desire (some of you might remember them from Éadaí SOS or Instagram) but I wore them to death! Like to the point there was a hole in the sole. So seeing as I wore them daily I decided to invest in a pair of good quality runners. I really like Veja’s and when I found the Venturi style I was obsessed!! So I saved my pennies and treated myself to a pair. They were really hard to find when I was looking in May. They were sold out on the actual VEJA website so I ordered them on Arket. They’ve lasted me so well (just don’t machine wash them). The VEJA website has videos on how to clean them properly to avoid damaging them. Mines have little to no signs of wear but ….last week….. Belle rediscovered her love for chewing laces so I need to order new laces. But hey at least they made it until January.

2. LONGCHAMP LE PLIAGE ORIGINAL:

When I visited Madrid I was shopping on Calle de Serrano, which is a really famous shopping street with every designer store imaginable. Thart hair everything from Pravda to Louis Vuitton and it was definitely an experience! I wanted to buy a new tote bag for college so I was looking at the Bimba Y Lola bags, as they are so popular in Spain. Nothing really caught my eye so I decided to have a look in LONGCHAMP. I’ve always loved the classic black bag with the brown leather and after seeing the quality in person I decided to go for it. They also engraved my initials on it! I’ve used it every single day since I bought it and I can honestly say it’s so worth the money. I’m not sure if it’s 100% waterproof but one day walking to college it absolutely bucketed and thank god for that bag because without it my iPad would’ve been a giver. I have the medium I think which is slightly smaller than the large and it holds so much. Everyday I’m shocked at how much I can squeeze in. If you are on the hunt for a good everyday bag this year this one is definitely worth it.

3. MARIA NILA & OLAPLEX HAIR PRODUCTS:

I started using Maria Nila products in first year of college when my hair was dyed and they were amazing!! You can buy huge bottles so they last ages and are definitely worth the money. I found they held on to my colour so well and when I moved to Spain they really helped my hair stay brown. I found my hair dry out big time in Spain due to the heat and the pool so I started using OLAPLEX at the beginning of November (shoutout to my mum who left me her little 10ml bottles of it when she visited). But omg the shine off my hair since, it’s amazing! At first I didn’t notice any change but I saw a TikTok on how to use it properly and it’s a game changer. First you condition the ends once you get in the shower. I presume it stops breakage maybe? Then shampoo your roots/top of your head and only here. I find if I rub it together between my hands it lathers way better. Finally apply conditioner again and leave it on for 3 mins approx. I saw this on OLAPLEX’s official TikTok so if you don’t trust me trust them. Both these haircare products are a little bit spenny but worth every penny in my opinion.

4. NESPRESSO VERTUO NEXT:

This was a Christmas present (thanks Santa) but I’d be lost without it. Honestly the gift that keeps on giving. Each coffee tastes like one you’d pay €4 for and you can get a box of 10 pods for like €4.50. Amazing! I also got the milk frothed which makes your coffee so much nicer. My favourite pods so far are Fortado, Caramel Cookie & Gingerbread (I think this was limited edition for Christmas but still so good!
