Split, Croatia - 5 DAY ITINERARY🥥🌊🌞🗺️🤍

Long time no seeeee. I can't believe I had abandoned this website for so long 😢. I love writing but final year of college was very busy so this is the first chance I've had to catch up. And what better way to do it then a girls trip itinerary 🌞. We just got back from Split in Croatia so I thought I'd share our itinerary while it's still fresh in my head. Hopefully this will help you if you are planning a trip to Croatia. It has to be one of the most amazing places I have ever been so I am very excited to share it with you. So lets goooooo!!

Flights:

We booked our flights at the beginning of April, so they were a wee bit of expensive but nothing crazy! We flew with Ryanair from Dublin to Split Airport. Our flight was on a Sunday evening so we drove up and parked the car in the Blue Holiday Carpark. This was so easy to get to the airport and helped make the journey stress free. I use Revolut Premium for my travel insurance which meant I got discounted access to the Lounge, so we all checked in for a few hours before our flight. I love doing this now because you'd easily spend €30 on food in the airport but at least here you get unlimited food, snacks and drinks. We took some for the flight too which was very handy.

Transfers:

If you use Booking .Com frequently you can get Genius Discounts (depending on what level you are), so we booked a discounted private transfer through this. This was sooo good as our flight was delayed but our transfer had our flight details, so we didn't need to inform them and they were waiting for us on the other side. It only cost around €30 which was great as we didn't need to go looking for a taxi late at night.

Accommodation:

We also booked our accommodation through Booking .Com as the Genius discounts meant we got a great deal. We stayed in the Casa Matošića Apartments, which were in such an amazing location. The apartment had one double bed and a couch bed so it was perfect for the three of us. It was so clean and the host was great and helped us with any questions we had. We also couldn't believe how clean and safe Split was, we never seen any rubbish on the streets and we felt safe the whole time. I'd highly recommend staying here as you really are in the heart of everything. We also had a little kitchen if you wanted to make food in the apartment.

Day 1:

As we arrived late Sunday evening, Monday was our first full day. Our apartment was right next to Oak Berry so we had some açai bowls for breakfast. These were unbelievable and only like €6! After breakfast we got some bits in the super market and got a taxi to Joes Beach Club (it was a 40 minute walk and we weren't doing great with the heat lol). Joes Beach Club was like something from the Maldives it was stunningggg. It was €35 for a sun bed for the full day but the drinks and lunch options were great so it was definitely worth it. The sea was so clear here too so we spent the day having cocktails and enjoying the views. After the beach club we got an Uber home and got ready to go for dinner. We went to Silk and the food was incredible. It was an amazing Asian restaurant with the nicest food I've had in ages. After this we went to the famous Charlies Backpacker Bar and spent the evening meeting new people and having the craic!

Day 2:

For Tuesday we booked a tour to the Krka National Park and a Winery. We were a little tired from the night before so it was a rush to get ready but we made it to the bus on time thankfully. I booked this through Get Your Guide and for a 10 hour tour it was only €34 each. Krka was stunning and definitely worth visiting if you go. There's a huge walk around the park and although we didn't manage to do the full tour we still got to see a good bit. There wasn't many snack options and queues were long so if I were to go again I'd bring some snacks. After Krka we went to a Winery in the mountains ran by a family which was very cool. You got to sample four different wines that they make there and they also had platters of cheese and cold meats, chefs kiss! After the winery we had two hours free time in Skradin so we got some lunch and enjoyed the sunshine before the bus back to Split. When we arrived back we got ready and then headed out for some dinner. We got dinner by the harbour but I can't remember what the restaurant was called. Afterwards we got some gelato and strolled around the old town.

Day 3:

On Wednesday we booked the ferry to Hvar. I used the website Bookaway, which was very straightforward and easy to use. I'd definitely book in advance next time as it cost us €40 return as we booked the night before. Hvar was amazinggggg. I wish we spent a night there as we all agreed we would have loved to visit the Carpe Diem Beach Club. We spent the day at a beach near the Hvar Beach Club. There was a wedding taking place at the beach club so there was a really nice buzz about the place. There was loads of lunch options here (even though we accidentally ended up in the fanciest one) but it was easy to grab slices of pizza and sit at the harbour. We got the ferry back that evening and then went to Fig for dinner. It was AMAZING. The food was great and the waiter we had was so lovely and told us all about the time he spent living in Ireland.

Day 4:

Most mornings I got up and grabbed a coffee at d16 Coffee, they did the best iced coffees!! We got some lunch and then headed to the boat party. We booked with Out To Sea Split and it was the funnest day. It was a 6 hour long trip but it went by so quick. We got to stop at the Blue Lagoon to swim and jump off the boat which was great craic. You can bring your own water too which was great to stay hydrated in that heat. The Dj was playing all the Mamma Mia songs and everyone was having the best time.
That evening we went for dinner in Fabrique Split and it was really good. They did an amazing gluten free pizza if your intolerant like moi and it was in such a nice setting. After this we went for drinks at the Olive Tree which was also a really cool spot.

Day 5:

On our last day we had to check out at 10am which wasn't ideal but we found this app called Bounce so for €5 you can leave your luggage in a safe spot for the day. This was so ideal as there was a travel agent who was one of the providers right beside our apartment. We spent the day exploring and then went to Diocletians Palace at 12pm for the changing of the guards. This happens every day at midday and is definitely worth seeing. We got some coffee down at the harbour and watched some of the super yachts coming in. We then grabbed our bags and headed out to the Mall of Split. There is a free bus that runs from the city centre to the mall which was ideal. At the main entrance of the mall there is an info desk and they take your bags for free for the full day. We spent the day shopping and then grabbed dinner at the food court. This was a great way to spend the day before we had to get to the airport. The Mall is amazing and has so many great shops. It was really easy to get an Uber from the Mall to the airport and only took around half an hour. Split airport has a strange layout and all the restaurants etc are before security so don't make the mistake we did and rush through security. They do have a large duty free but not many coffee and snack options.

Hopefully this helps you with your trip planning. We absolutely loved it and had the best time. I would definitely recommend it as a holiday destination.
